Final Year Projects: Raghunath Kulkarni (2009) Shares his Thoughts and Ideas

Hello,
  1. This is in regards to the final year project of the students which i just want to share so that they do a good project which would help them fetching a job off campuss too.

Following are the points that i would like you to share with them which i guess you might have already done:

  1. Teams which are dealing with anything remotely connected to WEB, can   practically implement it using the LAN facility of the college, so that the   students will implement it on college server and this in turn has two uses, firstly it will be real time and secondly a new application for college/branch.
  2. Please encourage the students who are dealing with their domains  related to mobile applications/android/symbian to go for practical   implementation of the application they develop in cell-phones rather than   going for the use of simulators.
  3. For the teams who are into Network applications, encourage the use of   tools like NS2, NMAP, Wire-shark and many more which i would love to help   them with so that they get the feel of networking in real, because the amount of knowledge we get from implementing a final year project in Network is very less if it is not done using the real time data.
  4. People who are involved into DBMS and Image processing projects, have them deal with large amount data which they can extract from the social  networking sites and other online resources available. A small piece of script written in any language would retrieve this information which in turn  would help them know the efficiency and performance issue of the project  that they develop

These information is not difficult from students point of view.
